Premium Rush MOVIE REVIEW

It's a simple concept, but this movie is original and is more fun than the majority of the summer blockbusters this year.

Premium Rush is an under the radar fun thrill ride of a movie.  The film stars two of my favorite actors of the last couple of years, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Shannon. The premise? A risk-tasking New York bike messenger is being chased down by a corrupt cop who wants what's inside the package being delivered.  Clocking in at around 90 minutes, the movie takes place over a four hour period of time and includes flashbacks throughout to help fill in the blanks and let us know how everything is all connected.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Wilee (as in the coyote), our bike messenger who is asked to do one more delivery before the end of the day.  He accepts, but soon realizes he is in for more than an average delivery.  After he picks up the package, he meets Detective Monday (Michael Shannon), who we later find out is corrupt and a little crazy, and then the chase begins.  Shannon is another one of my favorite actors of today.  He knows how to make a character strange and creepy with a hint of humor and he does it again here.  With the majority of the movie being on bike, we get a lot of cool and exciting scenes.  Throw in a little love story and some comedy and we got 90 minutes of pure fun
