...AND SIMPLY PUT...'s Top 50 of 2012 (50-41)

After seeing 150+ films released in 2012, I have compiled a list of The Top 50 Movies of 2012.
Part 1 (50-41), Part 2 (40-31), Part 3 (30-21), Part 4 (20-11), Part 5 (10-1)

#50
Hitchcock
Hitchcock has a decent story, but its' subplot kind of takes away from it, but luckily the two leads (Anthony Hopkins and Hellen Mirren) give great performances and carry the movie.

#49
Chronicle
Chronicle, despite having a low budget, is an original superhero movie that with a good young cast ends up being much better than many others in the genre.

#48
Killing them Softly
Killing them Softly is a film that I cannot recommend to everybody, because of the subject matter, but I really liked the cast (Brad Pitt has to be the coolest looking guy to ever smoke while wearing sunglasses) and enjoyed the dark humor.

#47
Lockout
Lockout is a B-rated type sci-fi film starring Guy Pearce, who is to me one of the most underrated actors, in a movie that is action packed and full of one liners all delivered excellently by Pearce.

#46
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2
The Twilight series comes to an end with the best installment to date.  I know some of you might think that doesn't mean much, but Breaking Dawn Part 2 was very entertaining and concluded the franchise as good as it possibly could.

#45
Wreck-it Ralph
Wreck-it Ralph has a great concept and has a very good first half and even though the second half gets a little kiddy and predictable it is still a well done film with some great voices chosen for the cast.

#44
The Grey
The Grey may be unrealistic at times but it is entertaining and has a pretty good story, but Liam Neeson is the star here along with a strong supporting cast.

#43
The Expendables 2
The Expendables 2 continues the over the top action and B-rated dialogue where the first one left off, but this time we get more Willis and Schwarzenegger and add Van Damme and Norris for a bloody good time.

#42
Dredd
Dredd comes across as just another B-rated type movie, but boy are you wrong.  Dredd offers a lot of action, a lot of blood, and a good time.  This is one of the most underrated movies of the year.

#41
ParaNorman
ParaNorman technically is a family movie, but it is much darker and even scarier than one might expect.  I loved the story, found it quite entertaining, and thought being a little more mature really helped it stand out in this genre where we see films that are very kiddyfied.
